What is individual leasing?

With individual leases, you are only responsible for your (or your student's) rent. You aren't liable for your roommates' rent at all! Unlike a traditional lease or a joint lease, if your roommate transfers, graduates, or fails to pay his/her rent, it does not affect you or your lease. College students have enough to worry about; an individual lease is one less thing!

Do I need renter's insurance?

In our efforts to continue striving to create a safer living environment for your son or daughter, we do require all residents to carry an active renter's insurance policy during their lease term.

For your convenience, we've identified a national insurance provider that has agreed to provide a comprehensive policy to residents at our communities at a preferred group rate! You can enroll in less than 2 minutes at epremium insurance.

What's the deal with roommate matching?

Plato's Loft at Randall offers free roommate matching to our residents. Your student won't have to worry about finding a roommate online or flyer-ing the entire campus, we'll do the work for you; all you have to do is fill out a questionnaire!

Will my apartment come with furniture?

Don't worry about hiring movers or renting a truck, the apartments at Plato's Loft at Randall come fully furnished! The days of moving a bed up a flight of stairs are long gone; just bring your personal items and you're all set! Each apartment comes with all major appliances, living room and bedroom furniture. Each bedroom has a full bed with plenty of storage room underneath.

What is the resident portal?

All of our residents and their guarantors have access to our property's online resident portal, helping you and them keep up to date with their life here in Wilmington! You or your student can pay rent online via checking or a savings accounts, set up automatic monthly payments, and submit maintenance requests, all with just a few clicks of your mouse!

Can I bring my pet with me?

Yes! At Plato's Loft at Randall we love our furry family members and want you to bring them with you! Make sure to register with the office and be advised that pet fees, additional pet rent and breed restrictions may apply.

What's included in my rent?

Our rates include furniture, water, sewer, cable and high-speed Internet. Each apartment is furnished with living room and bedroom furniture, including a couch, chair, coffee table, kitchen table and chairs, bed frame, mattress, dresser, desk and desk chair. Furniture package is subject to change.

Do you pro-rate august since move-in isn't until mid-month?

Our leases are "term leases", which means there is a set amount for occupying your room between specific dates. Your monthly payment is an installment that is broken down into equal monthly installments with the first being due on your move-in day (most leases are 12-month terms, however we sometimes have short-term leases available). You are welcome to pay your monthly installments in advance as long as you keep your account current and in good standing. Unfortunately we do not offer discounts for prepaid rental installments at this time.

Do you have to be a student to live at Plato's Loft at Randall?

You don't! As long as you meet our qualifying criteria, you're welcome to apply and sign a lease!

How does parking work?

On move-in day every resident is given one parking decal for his or her car. This will allow them to park in any spot on property as long as it's not a visitor marked spot. Guests will have two options, they can either pick up a temporary parking pass during office hours or just park in a marked visitor spot located throughout the property.

Are you within a 1-mile radius of UNCW? How can I get to campus?

Yes! We are located within the 1-mile radius of UNCW! The Seahawk shuttle runs every 20 minutes to and from campus. We have a shuttle stop located next to one of our entrance/exits of the community and it's absolutely free with your one card! The shuttle runs Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. And 5 p.m. Should you need to get to campus after 5 p.m., and do not have a car or a UNCW parking pass, they offer a point-to-point shuttle service from Monday-Thursday between the hours of 5:30 p.m. To 11:45 p.m. See the UNCW website for more information!

When can I move in?

Our typical lease term is 12 months and begins on August 17th- July 25th. Contact the office if you should need a more immediate move-in date, as space may be available!
